While there is no such thing as best, since everything is relative, there exist some tips that can ensure your visibility on the net among a wide audience.
1) Keep it crisp and easy to read
Most online dating sites offer the facility of a space for some description about yourself that you can post in that space. This space has a limitation and you need to restrict your comments to fit that limit. Hence it is important to think and decide clearly what to post rather than think of something on the spot and make a mess of it. You can start with making a list of the things you want to mention and then review them to remove the ones not necessary. Now you can actually write the profile on paper and again check for areas where you can put shorter remarks.
It is always better to keep the profile description to the point, but at the same time interesting enough to warrant reading by the many surfers visiting the site. You may also edit the profile on a regular basis if you can think of anything more interesting and useful to mention about yourself. Certain sentences can be shortened to mean the same thing, for instance, “I am a person who likes to listen to songs and my pals also think that I always tell the truth”, could be shortened to “I love music and am honest”
You have been able to shorten a 21 word sentence to 6 words without changing the meaning and that is what is required.
2) You need to be true and add a dash of humor
All of us like smiling and enjoy good jokes and a one liner. Studies indicate that many people look for individuals who are witty and can bring a smile to their face. Humor can often put a lot of things that have gone awry, straight and it is no surprise that people want their partners to have a good sense of humor.
Adding that dash of wit to your comment box will greatly improve the chances of visibility and responses.
3) A good snap
Though one is not supposed to judge a book by its cover, people on the internet look at both the snap as well as the profile of the person they are interested in before deciding on a date. You should therefore support your profile with a good recent photograph.
You cannot guarantee a perfect profile, but can certainly develop one that is superior to the other profiles and stand a better chance.
